Terry was the son of Sanford and Wilma Nell Richards of Walker, MO, the third of four children. He grew up on a farm north of Dederick, MO, and attended school in El Dorado Springs, MO. He graduated high school from El Dorado Springs in 1969 and moved to Kansas City to attend school following graduation.
He then worked for Sears in Kansas City for several years and married his wife, Diane. Terry and Diane had four children and were later divorced. Terry moved back to Nevada, MO, where he lived and worked for many years. He entered the Medicalodge in Nevada, MO, in 2008, where he lived until his passing.
Terry will be remembered by his friends and family for his silly jokes, quick wit, his artistic abilities, and his joyous personality. He spent countless hours drawing pictures and enjoyed passing them out as gifts to everyone he met. He loved playing card games and singing old church hymns and spending time with his family. He was so proud of his family and his grandchildren and looked forward to his visits with them. He never met a stranger and loved any opportunity to socialize and join in on the fun. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Wilma Nell Richards, and his daughter Johanna Richards. He is survived by his brothers Randy Richards and Ron Richards, his sister Joy Eason, his children: Brooke Foster, Paul Richards, and Rory Richards, grandchildren Taylor Wood and Destinee Milton, and 5 great grandchildren.
