Trafficker Intending to Distribute Drugs in Benton County arrested

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office, in an operation comprised of multiple law-enforcement agencies working together, recently arrested an alleged drug trafficker with multiple warrants already pending, in the process of transporting methamphetamine to Benton County. 

Rhonda Johnson, age 56 of Branson, Missouri, is now held in Taney County on a no-bond warrant for Trafficking 2nd Degree, and has additional charges for trafficking pending in Christian County.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reports receiving information in conjunction with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force on June 7th “regarding a subject who was trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine into the area from southern Missouri.”

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, “Detectives contacted the COMET Drug Task Force and discovered this individual had been under investigation over the past two years for drug trafficking. Through the cooperation of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Taney County Sheriff’s Office, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, and COMET Drug Task Force, the suspect was located while she was in the process of transporting methamphetamine to Benton County.”

The suspect was arrested in Christian County, where a search warrant was executed on her residence. Law enforcement officials seized narcotics and paraphernalia from the residence, along with “approximately ¾ of a pound of methamphetamine” that was allegedly intended for transportation to Benton County.
