Update: Kansas City man killed in Bates County Crash

On Thursday June 6th around 5:05 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and Rich Hill Fire Department responded to a one vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 120.8 near Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occured when the 2022 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 64 year old Michael S. Doll of Kansas City, Missouri traveled off the roadway and impacting a concrete bridge pillar.

Mr. Doll was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and he was transported to the Bates County Coroner's Office. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 31st fatality accident of the year 2024. Next of kin notified.
