Hilton Edward Hodges, 86, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 26 at 7:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, with the visitation beginning at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Hilton was born on March 13, 1938, in Archie, MO, the son of Ralph G. and Folste M. (Bopp) Hodges. Hilton graduated from Archie High School and then attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, graduating with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. He began his career going to work for Western Electric, then worked for Allis Chambers and Jerrold Instruments before working for Sprint, where he served as a Special Projects Manager in Financial Accounting, retiring in 2003.
Hilton married Vicki Trumble on May 4, 1963, in Raytown, MO, which marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Hilton's dedication extended to his service in the US Air Force Reserves from 1960 to 1966, embodying patriotism and valor throughout his military tenure. Together, Hilton and Vicki lived in Independence, Blue Springs, Centerview, and Lee’s Summit, MO. Hilton was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed buying and selling farm equipment.
Hilton was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Reta Lutes; and his brother, Arden Hodges. He leaves his wife, Vicki, of the home; his son, Michael (Alicia) Hodges, of Lee's Summit, MO; his daughters: Amy (Kevin) Holder of Argyle, TX; and Rebecca Hodges of Lee’s Summit, MO; and his 4 grandchildren: Elise Holder, Emily Holder, Chase Hodges, and Max Hodges.
