Obituary - E. Leroy Lindahl

E. Leroy Lindahl, age 92, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at Foxwood Springs Living Center on August 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Lord of Love Lutheran Church 8306 E 171st St, Belton, MO 64012. Visitation will be at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM. The inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery in Osage City, Kansas.

Leroy was born in Osage City, Kansas on August 9, 1931, the son of Oliver and Mary Lindahl. Leroy was a lifelong Lutheran and devoted much of his time and energy to the church throughout his life. The majority of his working life was spent as a small-appliance repairman for Montgomery Wards, which was well-suited for him as he was a natural-born tinkerer who could fix anything. In his spare time, he was an enthusiastic participant in many hobbies, including short-wave radio, travel (all 49 continental states and abroad), collecting (antique dishes, coins, stamps, newspaper mastheads), rock collecting, wood working, and story-telling. He was very proud of his Swedish heritage and enjoyed documenting family history and visiting and corresponding with relatives in Sweden.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mary Lindahl; his first wife, Freda Lindahl; his second wife, Alice Lindahl; brothers, Paul Lindahl and Harry Lindahl; and sister, Elna Mae Lindahl.

He is survived by children, Roger Lindahl, Lee Lindahl (Joseph), Daniel Bowlin (Susan), Kevin Bowlin, and Debbi Homola (Michael); and 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made one of two ways.
