On 11-17-2024 at around 11PM, Belton Police Officers were dispatched to a business in the 300 block of N Cedar on a disturbance with shots fired toward the victim. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle which had left the area.
A patrol supervisor was able to locate the suspect and his vehicle at a nearby apartment complex where he was detained without incident. Officers located a pistol in the suspect's waistband. Officers also noticed that the suspect appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect had gotten into an argument with another patron at the business and the two had gone outside to settle their dispute. The suspect produced a gun from his vehicle and pointed it at the victim. The suspect then got in his vehicle, drove around the building one time and then fired a single shot at the victim before leaving the area. This investigation later revealed that the suspect had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
