Late Friday Night Structure Fire in Adrian

The Adrian Rural Fire Department was dispatched at 2344 hours yesterday to a reported structure fire involving a shop that was fully engulfed with several additional exposures in danger. Adrian Fire responded with seven personnel (2) engines, (1) tanker and (1) rescue unit, and a tanker was requested for mutual aid assistance from Butler and Central Cass Fire Departments.

Our first fire units arrived on the scene at 2354 hours finding a heavy fire load to one structure. Personnel deployed attack lines, and a defensive fire attack was started on the shop while also preventing further fire spread to adjacent structures and equipment. Incident Command placed the fire under control at 0015 hours, and the incident was terminated at 0204 hours.

As always, we thank the Butler and Central Cass fire departments for their quick response and assistance. Our thanks to the Adrian Police Department and the Bates County Sheriff's Department who assisted in so many ways.

There were no injuries, and a cause of fire has not been determined at this time.
