Two young boys injured after ATV collides with truck north of Butler

On Sunday November 17th around 9:58 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and Butler Fire Department responded to a ATV accident involving a a truck on CR NE 6002 around a 1/2 mile west of Business 49 north of Butler.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when two young boys were riding a 2002 Honda Rancher ATV on County Road 6002 when the 8-year-old driver strayed into the path of a 2004 Ford F250 driven by a 68 year old male from Butler.

Both boys in the ATV sustained serious injuries and both were transported by ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
