Controlled burn today in Harrisonville

ATTENTION: At 2 p.m. today (Thursday), the Missouri Dept. of Conservation, in partnership with the Grand River Watershed Alliance, Harrisonville Fire Department and Parks Department, will conduct a controlled burn of native grasses near the west entrance of City Park - near Ash and Lexington. (Weather permitting)

Roads in the area will be closed. Please do not attempt to drive through the smoke created by this controlled burn.

Controlled burns assist with the development of our native grass areas, allowing for greater flood-plain management.
