Conexon Connect and Osage Valley Electric Cooperative ready to serve Butler homes and businesses

Conexon Connect and Osage Valley Electric Cooperative complete construction for all-fiber network in City of Butler and are ready to connect homes and businesses.

Leading rural internet provider Conexon Connect, in partnership with Osage Valley Electric Cooperative, proudly announces the completion of the Connect, powered by Osage Valley Electric, all-fiber network in the city of Butler. The completion of this network extension was made possible due to the joint commitment to enhance digital connectivity within Missouri’s rural communities.

The journey to fiber internet in central west Missouri began in February 2022, when Osage Valley Electric started connecting its members to the Connect, powered by Osage Valley Electric, fiber-to-the-home network. By fall 2024, Connect completed the on-system network build, delivering state-of-the-art internet services to members across seven counties.

Recognizing the impact of high-speed internet for rural communities, the city of Butler and Osage Valley Electric partnered with Conexon Connect to launch the extension of the Connect network in June 2024 to deliver cutting-edge connectivity to Butler residents and businesses.

Less than six months after the project announcement, the Butler network expansion was completed. This swift turnaround underscores the dedication and collaboration between the city of Butler, Osage Valley Electric and Conexon Connect.

“The city of Butler's willingness to collaborate and forward-thinking approach have been pivotal in making high-speed internet a reality for our community,” said Jarrod Campbell, CEO of Osage Valley Electric. “This partnership demonstrates the power of community-driven initiatives in bridging the digital divide and enhancing quality of life.”

Internet packages start as low as $49.95 per month for speeds up to 100 Mbps – with symmetrical upload and download speeds – and no data caps or throttling. Multi-Gigabit speed is available for power users: $79.95 per month for 1 Gig or $99.95 for 2 Gig service. HD-quality voice service is also available starting at $29.95 per month.

With the completion of this project, Butler residents can now enjoy seamless, high-speed internet access, opening doors to new educational, economic and social opportunities.
