Class action lawsuit filed in Montrose contamination case

Following a lawsuit filed in mid January by William (Bill) and Sue Steward of Clinton, Mo alleging that fly ash stored on the former Montrose power plant property has contaminated soil and groundwater on their property, other residents have joined the cause resulting further legal action.

As of January 31st, it was announced the that class action lawsuit has been filed in Henry county and is open to anyone who lives within a 10 mile radius of the former Montrose power plant property as well as anyone else who believes they have health issues related to toxins found in that area.

The three local firms who are assisting with the class action suit are Cason, Edgett, Mahan & Lutjen; Cover & Hilton; and Johns Mitchell, Duncan & Lowe.
