Shooting threat made at Lakeland schools in St. Clair County

On February 6th approximately 10 PM, The Superintendent at Lakeland Schools notified the Sheriff’s Office of threats made by a student to shoot faculty and students at the school.

The juvenile suspect was identified. Deputies contacted a parent and the juvenile at their residence. Deputies insured the juvenile suspect did not have access to any weapons to carry out the threat.

On February 7th deputies were at Lakeland School continuing the investigation. We are presently in contact with the suspect and there is no current threat to students or faculty at the school.

At this time the student/suspect is not allowed at the school. And the case is being turned over to the Juvenile authorities.
