1875 The last day of school at Hickory Grove school is disrupted by drunken boys firing revolvers and making fools of themselves.
1895 An ad in the Rich Hill Mining Review newspaper "Pure unadulterated Rich Hill Whiskey, $2 per gallon".
1921 Census numbers released show the Worland area has nearly 2,000 living there.
1926 Bates Co Sheriff Bradley & deputies arrest 26 for not licensing their cars. Butler.
1933 Byron Lockard is accused of grabbing and frightening Miss Alta McLaughlin, in Passaic. He cursed her and threatened with a stove poker. She sues him for $5,000.
1944 Effective today, first class mail takes a 3 cent stamp. Post cards will cost 1 1/2 cents to send.
1971 The Montgomery Ward catalog store on the East side of the Butler square is having a special on truck & tractor tires, 10 to 4  today.
1991 The FM Thorpe (Thorco) manufacturing company moves into the former Keller building in Butler. It will employ 25 people to start.
1998 Former Bates County State Representative, Ralph Hedrick, dies at the age of 76. He was from Rich Hill.
