Jim and Todd Hertzog appeared before the Butler city council last night with a major announcement
Hertzog Meat Company is soon opening a state-of-the-art USDA meat processing facility in Butler to be located at the former Walmart location. "This cutting edge facility represents a major investment in the future of food production" said Todd who went on to say that the 45,000 square foot building will house an innovative processing, cold storage and packaging line including a retail storefront that will "offer customers a closer connection to where the food comes from."
The facility is designed with efficiency and food safety in mind and will include a test kitchen and will be "unlike anything in the region."
He said their goal is to provide high quality, local meat products as well as new jobs and overall growth to the community.
