Obituary - Andrew Mahlon Kinzinger

Andrew Mahlon Kinzinger, Jr., 75, of Warrensburg, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at St. Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO. A private family inurnment will be held in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.

Andrew was born on September 17, 1949 in Chester, Pennsylvania, a son of Andrew Mahlon and Virginia Imogene (Watson) Kinzinger. He grew up and spent his early years in Chester. Andrew joined the Navy in 1968, right out of high school, serving four years before re-entering the public sector. Missing military life, he joined the Army in 1975 and traveled the world as active-duty Army. Andrew was united in marriage to Avida M. Ross on October 5, 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida.

After his discharge from the Army in 1984, Andrew and Avida moved to Harrisonville. Andrew hauled rock for the local quarry, eventually owning and operating his own truck. He retired in 2018 after 27 years. They then moved to Warrensburg in 2022. Andrew had moved into the Missouri Veterans Home last year.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Andrew Kinzinger III; a daughter, Corinne Kinzinger; and a sister, Mary Lou. He is survived by his wife, Avida Kinzinger, of Warrensburg; a daughter, Amy and spouse Monico Medrano, of Clinton, MO; a sister, JoAnne Tufts, of Phoenix, AZ; three grandsons: Brandon, Adam and Colin Rogers; three step-children: Anthony, Tristan and Shania Medrano; and four great-grandchildren.
