Cass Career Center students from Criminal Justice/Crime Scene Investigation (CJ/CSI), Fire Science, EMT, Health Services I, Health Services II, Teaching Professions, and the Adult Nursing Program recently collaborated for a powerful hands-on learning event—a simulated Mass Casualty Incident (MCI).
The scenario involved an intoxicated driver crashing through a crowded park, striking multiple vehicles and several bystanders. Students were dispatched to the scene, joined by proctors from local emergency agencies. Together, students assessed injuries, secured the scene, provided care, and applied critical skills they’ve gained throughout their programs.
This immersive experience brought classroom learning to life and showcased the preparedness, teamwork, and professionalism of our students. It’s just one more example of how Cass Career Center is preparing future professionals.
