Jane Ann was born on May 17, 1947, in Butler, Missouri, she was the daughter of Homer Duvall Jr. and Louella Duvall. A proud graduate of the Butler High School Class of 1965, she went on to study art at William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri.
Jane Ann’s lifelong connection with Douglas Ronald Jr. began in 1952, during the summer before they started kindergarten. Her mother brought her to visit the Ronald family—then living in Dr. Luter’s cabin at Recreation Lake outside of Butler—to meet Sue Ronald and her newborn twins, Jennifer and Jeffrey.
Jane Ann and Doug married while still in school and later welcomed two children: Douglas Ronald III of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Jennifer (Ronald) Vega of Brooklyn, New York.
Seeking a healthier environment, Jane Ann chose to leave Houston for the fresh air of the countryside. She found land near Cat Spring, Texas, designed her dream home, and, with Doug, oversaw its construction. The years that followed were filled with gardening and enjoying the peace of rural life. In 2014, the couple relocated to Bellville, Texas.
Jane Ann was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, who lived in Butler and Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by her beloved husband Doug, her two children, and her brother, Homer (Joe) Duvall III of Saint Petersburg, Florida.
The family wishes to express gratitude for the wonderful services of Hospice Brazos Valley, Brenham office.
