As the Kansas Highway patrol investigation continues, it has been revealed that the Beechcraft King Air that ended up on top of a hanger at the New Century airport in Johnson county, Kansas yesterday was indeed from Butler, Mo.
According to the preliminary report, the aircraft was piloted by 73 year old Leslie Gorden with passenger Delaney Rindal, 30. While the exact circumstances are unknown at this time, investigators say that the aircraft was flying southbound when the left engine became inoperable causing it to veer off course and strike a hangar.
Fortunately both pilot and passenger sustained only minor injuries and were able to exit the aircraft safely.
It has also been confirmed that it is the same King Air used for parachute jump operations out of the Butler airport; the official NTSB report may not be available for some time.
