The operation was coordinated by the Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Apprehension & Registration (SOAR) Unit and included support from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry Unit, the United States Marshals Office (Western District of Missouri), the Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children (WMICAC) Task Force, Missouri Probation and Parole, Cass County Digital Forensics Unit, the CCSO Criminal Apprehension Unit and Cass County Prosecutor’s Office.
During the operation, 14 registered sex offenders were checked.
One case will require follow-up and two cases are under active investigation for potential non-compliance.
Additionally, the WMICAC Task Force examined electronic devices during this operation and reviewed 6.45 terabytes of data.
This collaborative effort highlights the continued commitment of local, state, and federal agencies to community safety and offender accountability.
The Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children (WMICAC) Task Force is spearheaded by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and consists of personnel from agencies within Cass, Johnson, Bates, Henry, Saline, Lafayette, and Pettis counties. WMICAC is an affiliate of the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (MOICAC).
