Butler’s own Brandon Hammett competed at the District AAU Qualifier held at Raymore-Peculiar High School this past weekend, putting together a solid showing despite battling the heat.
Hammett earned a 1st place finish in the 3000-meter run, continuing to showcase his endurance and racing ability. He also placed 4th in the 1500-meter and 10th in the 800-meter, rounding out a strong day on the track.
While the conditions weren’t ideal, Hammett still managed to qualify for the AAU Regional Meet, which will be held in Springfield in two weeks.
Best of luck to Brandon as he continues his track season on the regional stage!
