Regarding accident reporting on Mid America Live

Here are some thoughts regarding accident reporting on Mid America Live:

As you may already be aware, the Missouri Highway Patrol is no longer providing names of crash victims in their online reports. The reports with names ARE available for a mere $5 however, the time to receive the report may be several weeks or longer. That kind of wait does not fit our 'live' news format nonetheless, if we can get names from credible sources, we will use them.

Outside the Highway Patrol, we are at the mercy of the agency in charge for getting information which also can include a lengthy time delay.

Please understand that when we report an accident, it is mainly to let you know of a potential traffic delay. Otherwise we will always work to get as much information as we can.
