Arvid Patrick Dooley, 92, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at his home in Raymore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with a visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Burial to follow in Raymore Cemetery, Raymore, MO.
Pat was born on November 29, 1932, at his family's home in the country at Koshkonong, MO, to the late Dell Patrick and Stella Mable (Redburn) Dooley. He was the oldest of their three sons. Pat attended English School at Koshkonong, which was a one room country school, and he also grew up in the Koshkonong area. Pat's first full time job while living in Koshkonong was at the age of 16 with the Cloud Oak Flooring Company. Pat lived at the family home until June 1953 when they moved to Lee's Summit, MO, and was employed at Longview Farm. Pat worked as a truck driver in the greenhouse.
Pat married Marie Maxine McAninch on September 11, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO. Pat and Marie lived at Longview Farm until 1956 when they moved to Kansas City, MO, and he was employed by Thor Power Tool Co. Their daughter Karen L. Dooley was born on October 12, 1957 and their son, David P. Dooley was born on May 13, 1961. They then moved to Raymore, MO, in August 1958 and Pat was employed by R.B. Rice Sausage Co., in Lee's Summit, MO, until his retirement. The family moved to Peculiar, MO, in 1963 and lived in town until 1976 when they bought their first new home and 6 acres south of Peculiar, MO. They lived here for 40 years along with their horses, dog and cats. They sold this house in July 2014, and moved to his last earthly home in Raymore, MO.
Pat enjoyed riding and taking care of his horses and he enjoyed trail riding at horse camps, as well as. meeting and riding with friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them very much, as they did him. Pat dedicated his life to our Lord and Savior on November 1, 1969 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO, where he still attends, and is still a member.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Joseph Dooley; and youngest brother, Udell Dooley. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marie M. Dooley; his daughter, Karen L. Dooley, Raymore, MO; his son, David P. Dooley (Darlene), Fallbrook, CA; his sister-in-law, Mary Dooley, of Raymore, MO; sister-in-law, June Dooley, of Harrisonville, MO; two grandchildren, Lacy Marie Dooley, Las Vegas, Nevada; and McKenna Paige Dooley, San Diego, California; and many other family and friends.
