New scam alert

There seems to be a scam going around targeting registered offenders in the county. The scam caller claims to be a Detective with the Sheriff’s Office and advises the subjects they have warrants and need to go to Walmart to pay the fines and then provide a sample of their DNA.

As always, the sheriff’s office will never contact someone via telephone to advise them they have a warrant and will never ask that someone go to Walmart to pay the fines or purchase prepaid cards to pay a bond.
