Frederick Albert "Fred" Hamm Jr. departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 67, in Stockton, Missouri. He was born May 1, 1958, in Pensacola, Florida, to Frederick Albert Hamm Sr. and Alice Calderon Hamm.
Growing up the son of a Navy man, Fred had the opportunity to live in many different places around the world. He attended school in Japan, Hawaii, Florida and lastly Missouri where he graduated from Ballard HighSchool in 1976.
Fred moved to Butler, Missouri where he would begin a remarkable, 44-year career at Osage Valley, retiring in 2022. He loved his job and his coworkers even more. Many jokes, pranks and laughs were had during his years there.
Fred’s work ethic was unmatched but what defined him most was the way he lived outside of work. He took pride in keeping his vehicles spotless. He loved spending time outdoors, shooting targets, hunting, fishing and riding 4-wheelers. He loved music, playing the guitar in a local band and attending numerous concerts with Wanda.
Above all, Fred was a family man. He shared his life with his beloved wife, Wanda, together they have five children whom he loved immensely and was so very proud of: Jacob Hamm (Stefanie) of Bossier City, Louisiana; Andrew Hamm (Sarah) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Rebekah Hamm of Nixa, Missouri; Mason Poulter (Amanda) of Rich Hill, Missouri; and Amber Erickson (Shane) of Nixa, Missouri. Fred cherished his role as “Papa” to 14 grandchildren; Jase, Eli, Easton, Blakely, Peyton, Jack, Henry, Katelynne, Tori, Chance, Allie, Carson, Josie and Rhett; and one great-granddaughter Wrenlee.
Fred is also survived by his father, Frederick Albert Hamm Sr; brother, Michael Hamm (Julie); brother-in-law, Darrell Fischer; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Hamm.
