Obituary - Robert "Travis" Shelton

Robert "Travis" Shelton, age 53, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on January 10, 1972, in Paola, Kansas, Travis brought a spark of curiosity and creativity into the world that remained with him throughout his life. Travis was the beloved son of Sandy Chandler and the late Harry Jackson Shelton Jr. He grew up surrounded by a close-knit family that included his sisters Amanda Bailey and Lori Bryant, and his brother Cody Chandler. He also leaves behind five nephews, one niece, three aunts, two uncles, and numerous cousins who will carry forward cherished memories of time spent together. From an early age, Travis had a deep fascination with how things worked. He loved taking electronics apart just to put them back together again—an expression of both his inquisitive mind and patient determination. This passion for tinkering was matched only by his love for music. Whether strumming his guitars or simply listening to his favorite tunes, music was a constant companion in his life. Travis also found joy in the simple pleasures: cooking hearty meals, savoring good food, casting a line while fishing, or cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs during football season. He had a special fondness for car races.These hobbies reflected not only his interests but also his zest for life and appreciation for moments of connection and excitement. Those who knew Travis remember him as caring and resilient—a true fighter until the very end. His strength in facing life's challenges left an indelible mark on those around him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on through the memories shared by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Jackson Shelton Jr., grandmother Mary Ann Roundy, and grandfather Bob Roundy.
