On August 20th at approximately 11:36 p.m., Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make a vehicle stop near I-49 and North Cass Parkway.
The vehicle had a defective front right headlight and its driver failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens. A pursuit ensued — and the driver began traveling at a high rate of speed.
Just before it ended, the driver exited at 87th St. and spun out in a grassy area east of Raytown Rd.
The driver has been identified as 45-year-old Denard Dunbar of Kansas City and the vehicle came back as stolen out of Kansas City as well.
At the time of his arrest, he had three active felony warrants out of Jackson County:
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with a bond of $10,000 Cash Only
Tampering in the first degree with a bond of $10,000 Cash Only
Tampering in the first degree with a bond of $10,000 Cash Only
Dunbar is currently being held at the Cass County Jail with charges from this incident pending.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Grandview, MO Police Department and Kansas City Missouri Police Department assisted in the apprehension of this suspect.
