Last week, Hurts Donut of Springfield, Mo. held a special fundraiser for Butler student Eli Ferrell to help offset medical expenses following severe injuries he sustained in an auto accident last month.
As he continues his recovery, his mother Savannah provided this recent update via Facebook:
"Today has been a BUSY one with lots of assessments! Eli was able to transition from the bed to a chair, and then from the chair to the toilet — such a huge step forward! He even got a real shower today and has been working so hard. Tomorrow we’ll finally get to learn more about the overall game plan and timeline moving forward. Feeling so grateful for every little victory along the way! Peep the real clothes also

A sincere thank-you goes to all who participated in the donut fundraiser which netted a total of $2,041.90.
