Obituary - Alissia L. Schrock

Alissia L. Schrock, 56, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Harrisonville Community Church, 1606 Chapel Drive, Harrisonville, MO.

Alissia was born on February 13, 1969, in Newfane, New York, a daughter of Dale and Joyce (Swank) Courcy. The family moved to Archie, MO, when Alissia was five. She graduated from Archie High School in 1987 and moved to Harrisonville soon after. Alissia was united in marriage to Kelly Schrock on November 24, 1989, in Harrisonville. Alissia was known by all to be an active and ardent follower of Jesus. Her sweet demeanor, generosity, sense of humor, creativity, and love for others made her an inviting presence in peoples' lives.

Alissia's creative drive was amazing to see. She would take a picture of a November sky with her DSLR and a short time later, a framed picture with a Bible verse would be on a wall in her house with the picture she took as the background, looking like something you might pay $250 for at a store. She would buy ugly pottery at a thrift store, would later be seen rubbing dirt or spackle on it, spraying it with something, and a beautiful earthen-ware pot would emerge. She strove to be the best possible parent, raising Andrew and Jiana according to biblical standards. In addition to maintaining her home in the finest "Proverbs 31" tradition, she also worked as the "chief financial officer" of her husband's small company. In essence, she was a massive benefit to anyone fortunate enough to know her.

Alissia was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Todd Courcy; and her grandmother, Norma Swank. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Schrock, Harrisonville, MO; her son, Andrew (Olivia) Schrock, Kansas City, MO; her daughter, Jiana Schrock, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her sister, Dee-Ann Courcy, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
