Back story - if you live in Adrian you often see our staff and residents out pushing strollers and getting some exercise. When they see one of our senior saints around town needing a hand they often pitch in.
Fast forward to yesterday- I received a call from Gary Dizney saying someone wanted to give Lily’s House something. I figured it was some clothes for the Thrift Store so I told him have her go to the store. Gary politely informed me she really wanted to talk with Sara and myself. So to the store we headed.
When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a story. Our ladies had often stopped to help a sweet lady in town. It was the tight thing to do. She had passed earlier in the year and she wanted to say thank you and support Lily’s House so she left a very nice “thank you” in her will. As we stood there and read the note and opened the check we all cried.
I was reminded of the verse in Galatians 6:9 - “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”.
In the midst of the challenges of our world it is so easy to be tempted to embrace a doom and gloom mindset. May this encourage you to continue to be a blessing.
