Obituary - Edna Roller

Edna Mae (McBride) Roller, 89, of Garden City, Missouri, passed away at her home under hospice care on Monday, December 15, 2025. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 PM at Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to ACG Hospice.
Edna was born on November 9, 1936, to James Edward and Ella Faye (Yocum) McBride in Garfield, Arkansas, where she grew up, then graduated from Rogers High School. She married Delbert Dewayne Roller on April 25, 1954, in Eureka Springs, AR, spending 53 years together and having six children to this union.

Dewayne and Edna moved from Arkansas to Kansas City, MO, in 1956, then moved and settled in the Garden City area in 1960, where they remained the rest of their lives. After raising her children, Edna worked at Holden Mfg Co as a seamstress, which she was part of sewing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders outfits at one time before retiring from Unitog. Edna enjoyed several hobbies including: bowling on a league, riding their Harley Davidson traveiling the country with their motorcycle club, gardening, crocheting, and just spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Rosehill Baptist Church, where in her earlier days she enjoyed singing to the congregation.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; one brother; her husband, Dewayne, on May 28, 2007; her grandson, Jeremy Roller, on August 4, 2013; her son, Ron Roller, on November 18, 2019; and her daughter, Diana Briggs, on August 14, 2025. She is survived by her longtime companion, Billy Gunn, of the home; son, Delbert Dewayne "Tim" Roller, Jr. (Jerre), of Garden City, MO; son, Randy Roller (Rita), of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Debra Kircher (Gary), of Harrisonville, MO; son-in-law, Jack Briggs, of Freeman, MO; daughter, Donna Kagarice (Jack), of Garden City, MO; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
