Appleton City junior Baylor Brownsberger has been named the first C&S Graphics and Kellie Davidson State Farm Athlete of the Week for 2026. Brownsberger, nominated by head coach Travis Basore, has been a standout performer for the Lady Bulldogs.

“Baylor leads our team in scoring, typically averaging over 20 points per game,” Basore said. “She helped lead us to the Butler Tournament championship and a strong showing at the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament, where she tied a tournament record with eight three-pointers. She’s a fierce competitor who makes everyone around her better and excels in the classroom, all while consistently putting in extra time in the gym to improve her game.”

Brownsberger spends roughly four hours in the gym on weekends during basketball season, taking about 800 shots per day. She credits her dedication to her early commitment to basketball in fifth grade and to role models such as her cousin Morgan Eye, who played at Mizzou.

“My dad pushed me to put in the work, and now my goal of playing post-high school keeps me motivated,” she said. “I also enjoy helping younger girls with basketball workouts, which keeps me in the gym and motivates me to be a good role model.”

Brownsberger said her favorite parts of the sport are the relationships she’s formed, the competitive nature of basketball, and the culture surrounding the game. Looking ahead, she said the Lady Bulldogs are focused on winning their conference and district and making a run to the state final four.

Each Athlete of the Week recipient is entered into a drawing for a $500 at the end of the year.
