Kocurek, 50 was charged with in 2017 with 1st Degree Sodomy, 1 Count of 1st degree statutory rape, and 2 counts of 1st degree child endangerment. District Defender Jeff Martin will present the defense on behalf of Kocurek.
Kocurek waived his right to a jury trial and his fate will be decided by Senior Judge James Journey of the 27th Circuit. The trial is expected to last at least 2 days and testimony will get underway at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 6th.
Prosecuting Attorney Hugh C. Jenkins and Bates County Assistant Prosecutor Cody Johnson will present the state’s case against Kocurek.
