Kocurek found guilty following 2 days of testimony in sex crimes case

Shortly before 2 pm this afternoon, Senior Judge James Journey found Michael Andrew Kocurek, beyond a reasonable doubt, guilty on 2 counts of Sodomy in the First Degree and 2 counts of First degree child endangerment.

In 2017 Kocurek was charged with 1st Degree Sodomy, 1 Count of 1st degree statutory rape, and 2 counts of 1st degree child endangerment. Prosecutor Hugh Jenkins and Assistant Prosecutor Cody Johnson presented the State’s case against Kocurek. Kocurek was represented by Attorney Jeffrey Martin.

Assistant Prosecutor Cody Johnson related that according to Missouri State Statute, Michael Kocurek is facing a lengthy prison sentence.

Kocurek had waived his right to a jury trial and his sentencing date has been set for February 17, 2026.
