La Cygne closes months long drug investigation with arrest

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On January 20, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers with the La Cygne Police Department executed a search warrant at 114 N. Railroad St. following a months-long investigation into suspected unlawful narcotics activity at the location.
During the search, officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, Mark E. Trinkle was arrested and transported to the Linn County Jail, where he is currently being held on the following charges:
>Possession of Methamphetamine
>Possession of Marijuana
>Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
