La Cygne police recover drugs as search warrant is served

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On January 13, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers with the La Cygne Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence located at 702 E. Chestnut St., La Cygne, Kansas, in reference to unlawful narcotics.
During the search, officers located approximately 17.5 grams of methamphetamine, along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale and use of illicit narcotics, as well as marijuana/THC products.
This operation occurred outside of school hours and was conducted in coordination with school officials to ensure there were no after-school programs or activities taking place at the time.
As a result of the investigation, Clark L. Montgomery Jr. was arrested and transported to the Linn County Jail. He is currently being held on the following charges:
>Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine 3.5 - 100 grams within 1,000 feet of a School
>Possession of Marijuana
>Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
