-Heating equipment - particularly alternative heat sources - is a key cause of home fire deaths.
-Space heaters cause 1/3 of home heating fires and 80 percent of home heating fire deaths.
-Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn
-Never use ovens, grills, or generators to heat your home
-Make sure smoke alarms and CO alarms are working
-Never use a generator indoors!
-Never plug an electric heater into a power strip or extension cord
