It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Keith Wayne Cook, who departed this life on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 70. In honor of Keith's spirit and his lifelong commitment to helping others, his family has chosen to honor his memory through a donation program. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Freeman Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Freeman Presbyterian Church or the food bank of your choice.
Born on June 9, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, Keith was a son of Steryl B. and Mary "Corky" H. (Bane) Cook. A lifelong resident of Freeman, MO, he embraced the spirit of his community and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Keith graduated from Cass Midway High School with the Class of 1973, a milestone that reflected his commitment to learning and growth. He furthered his education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History.
For 15 years, Keith was a sales manager for Teter Floral, making many friends while holding this position. Seeking a change, the next 21 years, Keith dedicated his professional life to the optical industry as a Territory Sales Manager for Charmant USA. His exceptional ability to connect with people and his unwavering dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
He was an active member of the Freeman Presbyterian Church, where he found joy in fellowship and community service. Keith also contributed his time to the Freeman Community Club, always ready to lend a hand and cultivate camaraderie among neighbors. Keith was a passionate Chiefs, Royals, KU Jayhawks, and soccer fan. He spent countless hours enjoying watching his nephew and great-nieces from the sidelines.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Adam Elliott; and his infant brother, Larry Cook. He is survived by his sister, Kelly Elliott, of Belton, MO; his brother, Kevin Cook, of Freeman, MO; his aunt, Linda Cook, of Freeman, MO; his nephews, Benjamin (Kim) Cunningham and Daniel (Haley) Elliott; his niece, Corinne (Anthony) Bricker; 4 great-nieces and nephew, Adyson, Sloan, Quinn, and Beckham; and many cousins and friends.
Keith Wayne Cook will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever illuminate our hearts.
