Obituary - Glenda Lea Haller
Glenda Lea Haller, 85, of Nevada, MO passed away on May 30, 2026, at Community Springs Nursing Home in El Dorado Springs, MO following a lengthy illness. Glenda was born September 3, 1940, in Ft. Scott, KS to George Washington Ashford and Gladys Marguerite (Tucker) Ashford. She was united in marriage to Levon C. Haller on June 5, 1960, at Grace Tabernacle in Ft. Scott and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1999.
Glenda grew up in Ft. Scott and graduated from Ft. Scott High School Class of 1958. She worked as a secretary for Fram Corporation in Nevada for 15 ½ years. As an adult, Glenda enjoyed volunteering her time to some of the community organizations such as the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, for many years she was an active member of the Nevada Bowling League. Glenda was a member of the First Chirstian Church in Nevada.
Survivors include three children: John Haller (Angie), Beth Douglas, and Brian Haller (Sonya), all of Nevada; five grandchildren, Lisa Haller, Johnnie Haller, Morgan Douglas, Riley Aguilar (Cristian), Nevada, and Brock Haller (McKenzie), Nevada; five great-grandchildren, Maddy Felix, Austin Pilcher, Brody Haller, Olivia Aguilar, Jessica Colvin, and “one on the way”; step grandchildren, Morgan Sheehy (Tricia), Noel, MO, Jordan Sheehy (Kawehi), Miami, OK; step great-grandchildren, Decon Sheehy, and “one on the way”; a sister, Donna Weber (Harry), Joplin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband Lavon, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Mary Ann, and a granddaughter, Jessica Haller.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Bill Platt officiating. Committal of ashes will follow at a later date in the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS.
