A LITTLE HISTORY ON THE DEATHMOBILE COMING SEPTEMBER 12TH!
The infamous Deathmobile was one of the unforgettable stars of the 1978 comedy National Lampoon’s Animal House, created from a Lincoln Continental for the movie’s wild climactic parade scene. The movie car was associated with legendary Hollywood customizer George Barris, the man behind some of the most famous TV and movie cars ever built.
The original in the movie was said to actually be destroyed by the cast in the after movie party!
But the Deathmobile coming to Cruisin’ to Clinton has a pretty special history of its own!
According to its owner, after Animal House became a hit, George Barris was contracted to build three Deathmobile clones to help promote the movie during its re-release. Only TWO were actually built—and the car coming to Clinton is one of them!
That means this isn't just another Deathmobile replica. It’s a actual Barris-built promotional Deathmobile used to promote the real movie.
This car appeared at the Volo Movie Car Museum before being sold publicly
And now you can see it FREE on the Downtown Clinton Square!
