Son of Gregory L. Fizell and Jo Ann Brewer Fizell
Born in Fort Riley Kansas, destined to serve his country
He made his life a brilliant adventure. With an explorer's heart, from a young age. To a most giving heart throughout his old age. He made friends where ever he went. He was no innocent Angel, onery as they come. He was a very amazing friend and brother. He was full of laughter and made people laugh easily.
He fought hard to do right. He partied hard from a young age and it overtook him. He fought back best he could. He fought hard against his demons over and over. The Marine in him just would not quit.
He proudly served our country in the United States Marine corps from age 17 to 21.
He worked on the backs of trucks unloading heef at a very young age. Then went into the Service, after which he moved to Florida where he met the love of his life and they gave birth to his only son, Arthur Leroy Fizell Jr. (AJ) whom was born on his 25th birthday. He also has 3 grandchildren. He never got to be close in their lives. Oh how he loved them and was so very proud of them. Breanna, Logan and Adelaid.
Art loved his family, his country, baseball, football (his teams were the Chiefs and the Buccaneers). Those teams played in August just two days before his birthday. Funny thoughts pass thru my mind as I write about him. He loved fishing, camping and probably a love hate for his beer.
He will be so very missed by all his family and friends. This Marine, this Son, this Brother, this Uncle, this Father, this Grandfather is honored and will be so badly missed on this, his final adventure.
He leaves behind his son AJ, his wife Amanda, his 3 grandchildren, his mother Jo Ann Herndon, his sister Lily Fizell, his two nieces Casey Taylor and Carey Filipin. He leaves behind many non blood brothers and sisters.
Was preceded in death by his father Gregory L. Fizell and his youngest sister Donna Jo Fizell. Quite a few more non blood brothers.
So we send you off with large pieces of our hearts my brother. Love you always and eternally. You were and will always be my favorite WARRIOR in my whole life.

Graveside memorial services were held at the Paola KS Cemetery August 7, 2026 with Military Honors.
