Car stranded on curve west of Butler
Missouri Highway Patrol is currently assisting with a minor accident on the curve at K highway and 52 west of Butler. The vehicle is reported to be blocking part of the roadway- use caution if traveling through the area.
Donations needed for Fire Pup program
Donations may range from $50 to sponsor materials for 20 children up to $500 for 200 children. All donations are tax deductible and should made payable to the National Fire Safety Council. Mail to the Butler Fire Department, 701 Roberta Road, Butler Mo. 64730.
Through your partnership in this program, the education of our children will help assist the Butler Fire Department to continue their goal of providing a safer community for all our citizens.

Cutshaw sentenced on multiple counts
Dewayne E. Cutshaw was found guilty on Felony possession or sale of equipment w/altered ID numbers and sentenced to 3 years in MDOC.
He was also found guilty on Felony possession or sale of equipment w/altered ID numbers—sentenced to 2 years in MDOC, given SES and placed on 5 years probation.
Sentences are to run consecutively with each other and concurrent with the defendant's Cass Co, Mo. sentence with restitution ordered in sum of $2500 and pay court costs.
Cutshaw will be required to successfully complete counseling/treatment as directed, be subject to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, and perform 200 hours of community service.

KCP&L gets ok to increase rates
The Missouri Public Service Commission has determined that KCP&L-Greater Missouri Operations Company (KCP&L-GMO) should be granted an electric rate increase of approximately $59.4 million to reflect the company's increased costs of providing service to its customers. The rate increase largely reflects the addition of the Iatan 2 coal-fired power plant. The Commission's vote was 5-0.
As part of its decision, the Commission reduced KCP&L-GMO's return on equity (ROE), or profit margin, to 10 percent. In this rate case, KCP&L-GMO sought an ROE of 11 percent when it filed its rate request on June 4, 2010.

Summary of the May Butler R-V Board of Education Meeting
Old Business:
The board heard a report from Alan Stauffacher on the parking lot and track projects. The parking lot top coat was being completed and the good news is that the lot will be available for graduation. The rock at the track in the ditches and a 60 x60 slab looked like it was being removed without heavy equipment and was moving fairly quickly.
Get certified to boat on Missouri lakes...
Major Tommy Roam, director of the Water Patrol Division, announces a boating safety certification course will take place on June 22, 2011, at the Harry S. Truman Visitor Center in Warsaw, MO. The class will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 3:00 p.m. There will be no charge for this course, however, students are required to pre-register on-line as seating will be limited and notification may be sent in the event the course is canceled. Classroom Course”.
Missouri law requires any person born after January 1, 1984, to carry a boating safety certification card along with a picture ID anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes. Any student who successfully passes this course will be eligible to order the boating safety certification card for $15.
