Carson & Barnes Circus captures hearts of young and old alike

Only one big-tent circus remains in America and it was in Butler today- the Carson & Barnes Circus was sprawled over the southeast portion of the Bates County Fairgrounds with the 'Big Top' visible from quite a distance.

Two shows today provided all the classic fun- dancing dogs, elephants doing tricks, high wire acrobatics, clowns and more. While this evening's show was light in attendance, those who came certainly got their money's worth...

Something missing in Butler...

A building. The two story, century old building that has been home to repair shops, beauty shops and more is no longer standing just off the southwest corner of the Butler Square. Deemed structurally unsound earlier this year, it has been torn down, making way for expansion of the Bates County Sheriff's parking lot.

The last of the clean up is expected to take place over the next few days.
