Butler JH volleyball scores from last night...
The Butler Junior High Volleyball vs Clinton B team won 2 out of the 2 games they played. The scores were 25-21 and 25-11. The A team lost both sets but the games were intense. The scores were 25-19 and 26-24. Both teams played very well against some really tough competitition.
Two injured in accident north of Passaic last night
Two drivers received minor injuries in a two car accident on 71 highway about a mile north of Passaic last night around 9:10 p.m. According to the MSHP report, a Ford pickup driven by Christine D. Lamberth, 33, of Joplin Mo. was attempting to pass a southbound Ford Fusion driven by Susie A. Church, 51, of Butler and struck the Church vehicle, sending both off the road into a field.
Both drivers were transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Missouri Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Adrian fire department and the Bates County Sheriff's Department.

Accident just north of Passaic
Adrian fire department first responders are on the scene of what appears to be a two car accident with multiple injuries on 71 highway about one mile north of Passaic. One vehicle is off the west side of the roadway in a field.
Bates County EMS and the highway patrol will be arriving on the scene shortly. Expect delays if traveling through the area.

Obituary - Marcus Lee Rice
Marcus Lee Rice, 75, Rich Hill, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Vitas Hospice Care in Kansas City, Missouri. No services are scheduled (Cremation).
Marcus was born February 25, 1937 in Lowry City, Missouri, the son of Perry Les and Marie (Hollenbeck) Rice. He was married to Wilma L. Dutcher. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Marcus was a self-employed truck driver for 30 years. He attended the Rich Hill United Methodist Church. He loved sports, animals and helping other people. He will be greatly missed.
Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma, and one brother, Merald D. Rice. He is survived by a nephew, Robert Rice and wife, Paula, of Kansas City, MO and Wilma's children.
