New Food Pantry Thrift Store to open mid November...

The new location of the Butler Community Food Pantry Thrift Store has been announced. The Thrift Store will open in mid-November and will be located at 901 South, Outer Road in Butler, the previous bowling alley location. The Thrift Store located on Rice Road will be closed while they are moving to the new location.

The hours and the date of the Grand Opening is to be announced.

* A reminder from the Food Pantry, due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The monthly Mass distribution will be held on November 17th. Food is distributed between 8:30 am and 11:30.

Butler Public Library Fall book sale set for mid November

Butler Public Library will be having their Fall Book Sale again this year!

Sat. Nov. 17th 9:30 a.m. -3:00 P.M.

The Butler Bears will travel to Sarcoxie for the district semi-final game tonight at 7 p.m. which will be broadcast locally on FM 92.1 the Bullet. Other games on the roster this evening include Adrian at Skyline and Midway at Drexel with starting times at 7 p.m. as well.

The Bates County Memorial Hospital’s Auxillary will host an open house at the Hospital Gift Shop December 4th. The Auxillary provides a Scholarship award to a Senior in Bates County that will continue their career in the Medical Field. The sales from the Hospital Gift Shop provides funds for this scholarship.

The shop is loaded with unique gifts for patients and the public and it’s worth a trip for the person on your Christmas Wish List!

Stop by the Hospital December 4th for the Gift Shop Open House… The Gift shop will be open from 8 am to 4 pm.

Family injured in 18 highway accident

Three family members received minor to moderate injuries in a two car accident on 18 highway, about 5 miles west of Adrian yesterday. Around 12:30 p.m., a westbound GMC truck driven by Leon Smith, 56, of Peculiar made a left turn in the path of an eastbound 2003 Ford driven by Jessica L. Kendrick, 30, of Adrian.

Kendrick, along with passengers Terry C. Kendrick, 34, and Roger Foster, 4, were transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Smith was not injured and refused treatment at the scene. The MSHP report indicates that everyone involved was wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Sgt. Pitts of the Missouri Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Adrian Police Department and Adrian Fire Department first responders.

Two car accident west of Adrian

Adrian fire department first responders and Bates County EMS are headed to the scene of a two vehicle accident approximately 5 miles west of Adrian on 18 highway.

The Bates County Sheriff's Department deputies are on the scene and reported that occupants were out of one vehicle with only apparent minor injuries. Use extreme caution if traveling through the area.
