On Tuesday February 19, 2013 The Butler Bear men will take on The Pleasant Hope Pirates in the opening game of Boys Districts. This game starts at 4 pm and also will be Live on air courtesy of FM.92 The Bullet. Please get out and support your local school as they compete for a District title and possible State Title. Miami FCCLA Dinner set for 2/15/13
Miami FCCLA will be having a Free will donation dinner at 5 pm February 15th, 2013 at the school during the basketball game. The money will be used for the students who qualify to compete at a state level McBee's of Amsterdam will provide Smoked Meat, home made roll, coleslaw, baked beans, dessert and a drink. Update on accident Northeast of Adrian 2/12/13
Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County Sheriff Department responded around 9:30 pm last night February 11th,2013 to a 2 vehicle rollover accident Northeast of Adrian a BB Highway .25 miles from County Road NE 12004.
The accident happened when The 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Mary J. Graham 77, of Urich Missouri was traveling East bound and Crested a hill the same time as the 2001 Dodge 1500 driven by George A. Warren 23, of Butler Missouri was traveling West bound and the vehicles collided. Both were wearing seat belts and both vehicles received extensive damage.
Graham was taken by private vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with moderate injuries. Warren was not injured. The wreck was investigated by Bates County Sheriff and Trooper D.A. Jones and Trooper B.R. Dodson.

Methodist Church News: The annual
Valentine’s Sweetheart dinner was held on Sunday, December 10 with a delicious
supper of Broasted chicken, mashed potatoes and grave, corn, salad and ice
cream for dessert. The Methodist Men did
a great job once again preparing the meal.
The entertainment for the evening was the “Backwoods Kuzins” from Lamar,
MO., a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship was enjoyed by all.
The Hume
community choir is practicing every Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the music
room at the Hume School. If you enjoy
singing, please join us as we prepare for an Easter concert.
Rollover Accident Northeast of Adrian
Bates County EMS, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Adrian Fire/ Rescue is in route to a reported 2 car roll over accident near BB Highway Northeast of Adrian. There was a report of No Injures and they are not blocking the roadway the 2 vehicles struck doors.Please use caution when traveling in this area. ST. PATRICK'S ANNUAL FISH FRY
The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Butler will host one of 3 fish fries to be held in February and March.
The first fry will be held on February 22nd at the church on Nursery Street in Butler. The cost is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 6-12 and kids under 5 years
old will eat free. It’s all you can eat , complete with all the sides… all donations are welcome… just come an enjoy the February Fish Fry at the Catholic Church in
Butler. March Fish Fries will be on March 8th and again March 22nd. Serving from 5 pm to 7 pm.
