Butler Police Officer makes a little girls day

A Butler City Police Officer made a little girls day today by going beyond his call of duty. A 9 year old Butler Girl was bitten by a dog this morning in South Butler when Officer Boyer of Butler Police Department arrived on scene the little girl was very scared of the situation. She told Officer Boyer she wanted to be a cop when she grew up so she could help fight crime. Boyer who is a newer officer on the force quickly sprung into action and asked her if she wanted to learn how to be a police officer? Then he showed her everything inside of the car and let her play with his sirens and lights. The family of the little girl is so grateful for Officer Boyer and how he handled the situation. Also thanks to the Butler Police Department for the job that they do.

UPDATED :Strong Storms Possible

An even warmer day is on tap for Sunday with readings in the 70s! However, these warmer temperatures will come with a few drawbacks. South winds will be VERY strong through the morning and afternoon hours gusting as high as 40 mph at times.

By mid-afternoon, a front will arrive and thunderstorms are expected to form along this front. While it doesn't look like a large severe weather threat for the area, a few storms could produce some small hail and gusty winds. The prime time for widespread rain will be after 4pm with a line of thunderstorms slowly moving southeast into the evening. Rainfall amounts of 0.50" to 1" or more will be possible.

Once again, if you have outdoor plans, most of your day will be fine, but keep an eye to the sky by mid-afternoon.
