UPDATE: From Osage Valley Electric

The Crews are continuing to make progress on the outage repairs in the Creighton and Garden City area. They are working to replace a broken pole and then should be able to restore power.

Approximately 400 members of Osage Vallery Electric are without power in the Garden City and Creighton area. The Crews are working on the issue and will restore power as quickly as possible.

Weather Update: Rain Start And End TIme

Rain and a few thunderstorms are moving into the region this morning. Here is when you can expect the rain to begin and end at your location. 

Thunderstorms at the leading edge of this rain are producing brief downpours and a few lightning strikes, but we do NOT expect any strong wind or hail. Rainfall amounts should generally be a half inch or less, so no flooding rains are expected. Thunderstorms will only last for about a half hour, followed by off and on light rain for about 4 or 5 hours.

UPDATE: 1 Vehicle Roll Over Accident I - 49

A Nevada woman was hurt Friday in a one-vehicle wreck on I-49 in Bates County. 32-year-old Colleen Johnson was flown to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries. Missouri Highway Patrol trooper G.J. Jenner says the crash happened about 5:15 p.m. when the North-bound GMC Yukon, driven by Johnson, ran off the left side of the road, overturned in the median and overturned several times until coming to rest on its wheels in the North-bound passing lane of I-49.

Minor Traffic Accident In Butler

Butler Police Department is on scene of a minor 2 vehicle traffic accident on South High Street in the parking lot of the Butler Skate Park. The accident is very minor and the officer is taking a report. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.
