Weather Update: Severe Weather Possible Later Today

The ongoing morning thunderstorm activity will gradually diminish, setting the stage for a second round of thunderstorms across the region this evening. Storms will form over eastern Kansas and Nebraska after 4pm slowly moving eastward into Missouri this evening.
The timing for the highest severe weather chances will fall between 6pm and midnight. Storms will pose the risk for large hail and damaging winds. Those with outdoor plans this evening, especially near the Kansas/Missouri state line, should continue to monitor the forecast today and have a severe weather plan in place.
