Adrian Library Chili/Soup Fundraiser




The Adrian Library Chili and Soup Fundraiser bidding has started on beautifully decorated Holiday Wreaths and Christmas Trees, currently displayed at Adrian Bank and Adrian Citizens Bank. These items are part of the silent auction planned for the Adrian Community Library’s Fall Chili/Soup Fundraising Supper, Friday, November 8th. To be held at the Adrian Optimist Building, Homemade chili, soups, and a variety of desserts will be served from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Special music will be provided by the Adrian School Carolers beginning at 5:30 p.m. Another highlight of the evening will be the popular Decorated Tree & Wreath Silent . Auction The Trees and Wreaths will be moved to the Optimist Building for the fundraising event, with final bidding closing at 6:45 p.m. The winning bidders will be able to take the items home that evening. Friends of the Library memberships and renewals will also be available. All proceeds support the Adrian Community Library. Missouri State Representative Convicted Of Misdemeanor Animal Abuse


A Missouri State Representative has been convicted of a misdemeanor animal abuse charge in St. Clair County. Osceola republican Warren Love was charged in September, 2012 for knowlingly failing to provide adequate control of his animals after his cattle escaped his pasture. Judge Garrett R. Crouch II found Love guilty after a trial that began at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the courthouse in Osceola. A hearing on any post-trial motions and sentencing is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. November 18. The maximum penalty is up to one year in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.00. Love, who was elected last November to represent Cedar, St. Clair, Hickory and Benton Counties, said he was disappointed -- but not surprised -- by the verdict.

Weather Update: Get Ready For Rain



Several rounds of rain are expected this week, beginning TONIGHT! We're looking at widespread 1-3" rainfall totals, even higher in some areas. Keep an eye on Wednesday afternoon for the potential of a few stronger storms. Good news is that Halloween evening looks cool, but dry for most.

Two vehicle Accident In Butler



The Butler Police Department along with Bates County EMS  is on scene of a two vehicle accident in front of Willow Lane Nursing Facility on High street in Butler. It is unknown if there are any injuries at this time. Bates County Live will keep this updated when and if any more information becomes available.

Possible Structure Fire At Heimans Elevator In Butler




Butler Fire Department, Adrian Fire Department, and  Butler Police Department are all in route to a reported structure fire in the south shop of Heimans Elevator here in Butler. There is said to be smoke coming out of the roof of the south shop. Bates County Live will update this if and when any more information becomes available.

Butler Bears vs Windsor Greyhounds Jr High Football Summary- 10-14-13


 
 
On Monday, October 14, the Butler Bears junior high football team traveled to the Windsor Greyhounds for their final game of the season. The Bears won the game by a final score of 32-0. The Bears offense was forced to punt on its opening drive, but then proved quite dominant scoring in the next four consecutive drives. Several Bears scored rushing touchdowns for the Bears in this game, including RB Connor Wolf, RB Martin Melhuish, WR Ethan Gardner, and RB Cole Kuda. RB Martin Melhuish led all rushers with 79 yards on only 2 carries. The Bears converted all four PAT’s, 3 by RB Connor Wolf, and 1 by QB Seth Stump. QB Seth Stump went 2 for 3 in passing, connecting with WR Ethan Gardner for 33 yards and RB Cole Kuda for 7 yards. QB Cody Gabriel also completed an 8 yard pass to WR Jakob Koehn. 
 
The Bears defense shut down the Greyhounds offense the entire game, keeping them well out of scoring range from start to finish. Defensively, LB Jakob Koehn led the Bears defense with 7 tackles. LB Ethan Gardner and FS Seth Stump both intercepted Greyhound passes, stopping drives. LB Connor Wolf also recovered a fumbled punt return from the Greyhounds. The Bears concluded their season with a 4-2 record.

Field Fire North Of Amoret




The Amoret Fire Department along with Amsterdam Fire Department is in route to a field fire North of Amoret to County Road 4002 and take a left then go over the railroad tracks. 

The fire is on the Sherman Property and is almost to reach a house. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.

Butler Youth Wrestling Sign Ups




Butler Youth Wrestling Sign Ups will be held at the Field House on November 2nd and November 9th from 10 am till noon. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Sign Up fee is $50.00.
