| Brandon Burton |
On
Wednesday, June 18, Brandon Burton, 30, Weaubleau, was arrested on a St.
Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of
theft/stealing-value is $500 or more but less than $25,000. The charge
stems from an investigation that started on June 13 when a St. Clair
County deputy was on routine patrol near Collins. The deputy observed a
stranded motorist pulled in a driveway alongside Highway 54, across the
road from Mike's Wrecker Service. The deputy stopped to assist and two
people, Burton and William Dane, 44, Flemington, were identified. The
registration information from the vehicle was obtained and the deputy
cleared the scene and continued patrolling. A follow up investigation by
the deputy revealed evidence a stealing had occurred.
The investigation led to the recovery of
several radiators and batteries at a residence in Polk County. Mike
Garlett Sr. from Mike’s Wreaker Service was contacted and identified the
property. The value of the items was estimated at $5,705. On June 14,
Dane was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with felony
theft/stealing.
St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Suspect in burglary case arrested
On June
22, Ernie Haas, 31, Clinton, was arrested on two Henry County warrants
for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges and a Bates County
warrant for no license. Hass is also a suspect in a burglary case at
the Ron and Shelley Garrison residence on NE 1021 Road, Osceola.
On June 22 St. Clair County deputies were
dispatched to the Garrison residence in reference to a male subject
attempting to steal a vehicle from the property. The Garrison’s said
they woke up after hearing a noise behind their house. After
investigating the noise, it was learned their Ford F-350 pickup truck
had been moved from the front of the house to behind the house.
Ron Garrison stated he walked closer toward
the truck and observed a white male subject sitting inside his pickup
going through items the center console. Garrison said he identified
himself and spoke to the subject for a brief moment and the man left the
area, quickly walking into the woods. He reported a Garmin GPS valued
at $120 was stolen from the truck. The GPS was later recovered,
identified, and returned to the Garrison’s. The investigation is
continuing and formal charges in this case are pending against Haas.
